Even If and Even Though: Vannaalum, Mazha Peythaalum | Spoken Malayalam #127
الوصف
English builds "even if" and "even though" with separate words at the front of the sentence: even if it rains, I'll come. Learners translate the front word and hunt for "even", then attach "if" separately, producing something like മഴ പെയ്താൽ പോലും (mazha peythaal polum), which is understood but stiff. Malayalam usually does it with one small tail on the verb: -aalum.
In this episode:
• -aalum: even if
• -aalum with question words: whatever, whoever, however
• -enkilum: even though and at least
• Ennaalum and ennittum: even so, and yet
• An invented scene: the rainy saturday
• How to build them quickly
• Language bridge
• Practice
• Self-check questions with answers
