الوصف
Most beginner courses teach the wrong hundred words: colours, animals and fruit, with which you can say almost nothing. This class gives the real first hundred, chosen by one test: what breaks a conversation if you lack it. They come in ten blocks: the survival ten, ഉണ്ട്, ഇല്ല, ആണ് and അല്ല, the dative pronouns that give you I want, I know and I'm hungry, question words, twenty verbs, the polite -ആമോ request, connectors, everyday words, address terms and social lubricants. There are almost no nouns, on purpose: a learner with the frame picks nouns up from the world. Words and phrases in this class: ക്ഷമിക്കണം (kshamikkanam) – sorry, excuse me എനിക്ക് മനസ്സിലായില്ല (enikku manassilaayilla) – I don't understand പതുക്കെ (pathukke) – slowly ഉണ്ട് (undu) – there is, has അല്ല (alla) – is not എനിക്ക് അറിയാം (enikku ariyaam) – I know എനിക്ക് ഇഷ്ടമാണ് (enikku ishtamaanu) – I like it എനിക്ക് സുഖമില്ല (enikku sukhamilla) – I'm not well എപ്പോൾ (eppol) – when തരാമോ? (tharaamo?) – could you give? പക്ഷേ (pakshe) – but കുഴപ്പമില്ല (kuzhappamilla) – no problem പിന്നെ കാണാം (pinne kaanaam) – see you In this class: • The ten words that come before everything • ഉണ്ട്, ഇല്ല, ആണ്, അല്ല, and the dative that gives you seven sentences • Twenty verbs, one polite request ending and fifteen connectors • Why the list has almost no nouns Quizzes below.
