こんにちは～！マルハバ！サウジの日本語の先生、佳子です＾＾
みなさんー！遅れましたが、明けましておめでとうございます。
今年もよろしくお願いします＾＾
今日は「サウジでの新年と今年の目標」について話します。
サウジアラビアに住んで1年と1カ月が経ちました。早いですね。今年はサウジで2回目の新年を過ごしました。サウジアラビアでは、新年を祝う文化がないので、年末年始の休みはないですし、私たちもほぼ普段通りの一日を過ごしました。ただお正月には日本で大きな地震や飛行機事故があったりして、日本に住んでいる家族や友人はいつもと違った新年を迎えたようです。その大きな地震は私の地元から車で3時間ほどのところで起きました。その地域は今までにないくらい大きな被害を受けたので、本当に心が痛みました。被害を受けた地域のみんなが早く普段の生活に戻れることを願っています。
そんなわけで、私もいつもと違う気持ちで新年を迎えました。今年の目標を作るのが遅くなりましたが、みなさんに個人的な目標を二つ共有したいと思います。
まず一つ目は、アラビア語を中級レベルで話せる・聞き取れるようになることです。去年の3月から少しずつですが本格的にアラビア語を勉強しています。夫のお母さんとアラビア語で日常会話ができるようになるのが目的ですが、現状アラビア語での会話が3往復くらいで終わってしまうので、今年はもう少し複雑な会話ができるようになりたいと思います。
アラビア語は日本語と360度違う言語なので、本当に難しいですが、毎日地道に頑張ります。
二つ目は、息子を無事に小学校に入学させることです。諸事情でサウジに来て幼稚園に行っていないのですが、サウジでは日本より半年早く小学校1年生になります。つまり今年の8月からです。あと7カ月しかありません。きっとあっという間に入学の時期が来ます。息子はアラビア語がわからないので、インターナショナルスクールに入れる予定です。私立学校には面接やテストなどがあるので、その準備とか、家族以外の人と英語でのコミュニケーションができるようにしておく必要があります。私たちにとっては入学までも大変ですが、入学後も環境が変わってきっといろいろ苦労することがあると思うので、そういう面も頑張らないといけないですね＾＾

Today I'm talking about "Otsukimi (Viewing Moon)".

I saw the news of moon viewing on TV this morning. The harvest moon of thie year was September 10th. It was yesterday. The beautiful moon was on TV, but I didn't see it yesterday. OMG!

こんにちは。
今朝、テレビを見ていたら、お月見のニュースをしていました。
きのうの夜、9月10日　土曜日、京都、大覚寺（だいかくじ）の大沢池で　「観月祭」が催されたそうです。
雲が多かったようですが、その雲を抜けて　月が顔を出すと、月見に来ていた人たちが、スマホで月の写真を撮ったり、うっとりと空を眺めている様子がテレビに映し出されていました。
私はというと、せっかくのお月さまを　眺めることもせず　仕事をしていました。

8月のカレンダーをめくって、「ああ、もう9月か。もうすぐお月見だな」とおもいながらも、結局、私は何もしませんでした。

お月さまが満月になるのは、年に何度もあることですが、この時期のお月さまは「中秋の名月」と言って、特別なものとして扱われています。中秋とは　秋の真ん中のことで、名月は秋の夜に昇る大きくてまん丸な満月のことです。

「月を愛でる」ということばがあります。日本人だけでなく、地球上のあらゆるところに　月を愛でる人たちがいると思います。
その証拠に、月を歌った歌はたくさんあります。
日本では、「月」「証城寺の狸囃子」「荒城の月」「朧月夜」「雨降りお月さん」などなど
海外では『ティファニーで朝食を』の「ムーン・リバー」、ジャズのスタンダートナンバー「フライ・ミー・トウ・ザ・ムーン」など、
月の夜を楽しむ歌もあれば、悲しい恋の物語を歌う歌もあります。

むかしむかしに書かれた日本の短歌でも　月は歌われています。
月見れば　ちぢにものこそ　悲しけれ　わが身一つの　秋にはあらねど（大江千里）
めぐりあひて　見しやそれとも　分かぬまに　雲がくれにし　夜半の月かな（紫式部）
心にもあらで　うき世に　ながらへば　恋しかるべき　夜半の月かな（三条院）

「月の短歌、俳句」で　ネット検索すると、なんとたくさんの歌が出てくることでしょう。
恋心をうたったもの、亡くなった人を想って歌ったもの、故郷への想いをうたったものなど、いろいろあります。
見ている月は　みんな同じはずなのに、月は　ひとりひとりに　違う風景を見せてくれているのかもしれませんね。

さて、私は1日おくれのお月見を　今夜　しようと思っています。

お月見（おつきみ）Viewing Moon

Life's too short to read the small print, right? The small print, sometimes called the "fine print" is the name for the terms and conditions you find on websites, contracts and other documents.

The size of the text is often a little smaller and there can be quite a lot of it. For these reasons, some of us don't read it all — even though we know it can be very important.

A company from the UK decided to test how many people really do read the small print.

The company, called Tax Policy Associates, hid a little surprise in the privacy policy on its website, offering to send a nice bottle of wine to anyone who read it.

It was the idea of company founder Dan Neidle. He wrote in the policy: "We will send a bottle of good wine to the first person to read this."

The policy was posted online in February, but the company was only contacted about the wine in May!

He told the BBC that it was a "childish protest" because "all businesses have to have a privacy policy" even though no one reads them.

Neidle added: "Every tiny coffee shop has to have a privacy policy on their website, it's crazy."

He said that the person who found the sentence about the wine had been writing their own privacy policy, and they were looking for examples.

That lucky person was sent a bottle of French red wine and the sentence offering the free wine has now been taken out of the policy!
