L’homme sur la plage est Eric le Kraken. C’est un pirate du XVIIe siècle. Il a une montre grâce à
laquelle il a voyagé dans le temps jusqu’à l’époque actuelle. Charles et Suzanne décident de
voyager avec Eric dans le passé, au XVIIe siècle. 

Quand ils arrivent, Eric décide qu’ils doivent l’aider. Ils doivent gagner une bataille pour lui. Frank (un autre pirate), Charles et Suzanne forment un plan. 
Ils vont voler la montre à Eric.

「このお手々にちょうどいい手袋ください」
すると帽子屋さんは、おやおやと思いました。
狐の手です。狐の手が手袋をくれと言うのです。
これはきっと木の葉で買いに来たんだな
と思いました。そこで、
「先にお金をください」
と言いました。
子狐は すなおに、握って来た白銅貨を
二つ帽子屋さんに渡しました。
帽子屋さんはそれを人差指の さきにのっけて、
カチ合せて見ると、よい音がしましたので、
これは木の葉じゃない、ほんとのお金だ
と思いましたので、棚から子供用の毛糸の手袋を
とり出してきて子狐の手に持たせてやりました。
子狐は、お礼を言って
また、もと来た道を帰りはじめました。
