さて今日は日本の伝統行事 "七五三" についてお話しします。
１１月の中旬ごろに行うこの文化は、平安時代という今から1000年ほど前の
日本で始まりました。
３歳・５歳・７歳の子供たちの儀式なので "七五三" と言われており
子供の成長を祝い、長く生きることや幸せを願って今も続いています。

３歳では男の子と女の子が赤ちゃんから子供に成長し、長生きを願うためにお祝いをします。
５歳では男の子が小さな子供からひとりの立派な少年に成長するためにお祝いをします。
７歳では女の子が大人の女性へ成長するためにお祝いをします。

昔は今と違って子供の死亡率がとても高かったため、
この伝統行事が作られ、日本人は大切にしてきました。
３歳・５歳・７歳の子供たちはこの時期になると七五三のために可愛い着物を着て
神社でお参りをします。
もし日本の神社へ行くことがあれば、可愛い着物の子供たちを見られるかもしれないですね。
