Do you want to be more motivated to achieve your English-language-related goals but sometimes feel demotivated?

In psychology, a secondary gain is when you benefit from a problem. It’s when you receive advantages from unwanted conditions, circumstances, or limitations. In other words, you benefit from not overcoming problems. 

It doesn’t mean the problem is positive, but the benefits of having the problem support you in keeping it rather than solving it.

Secondary gains are guides to help you get unstuck. They’re an invitation to understand the advantages you receive from retaining problems instead of solving them.

In simple terms, you crave attention and accidentally injure yourself. As a result, people care for you. You get what you want (attention), but at the expense of what you don’t want (injury).

Is it now clear to you? What are your secondary gains from not following through on your language learning goals that you benefit from?

This might be a game-changer for you in learning to communicate in English confidently and fluently.

Give it a go and allow yourself some space to think and resolve some uncommon issues. Good luck.

"Bring up" по-русски озночает "поднять что-то" или "вынести на обсуждение что-то."

1. He brought up an interesting topic during the meeting.
Он поднял интересную тему на встрече.

2. I didn't want to bring up that issue with my parents.
Я не хотел поднимать этот вопрос с родителями.

3. She brought up the idea of going on a trip.
Она предложила идею поехать в путешествие.

部長は私を日本へ出張させた。
お母さんは私に買い物に行かせた。
お母さんは私に野菜を食べさせた。
分かりますか。これらは強制の意味です。部長は言います。「日本へ出張に行きなさい」と同じ意味です。
出張させた。出張する。これはグループ３ですね。グループ３は、「出張します→出張させます」
「します→させます」
「きます」→「こさせます」になります。
「食べます」はどうですか。グループ２ですね。「食べます→食べさせます」「ます→させます」です。
みます→みさせます
調べます→調べさせます
覚えます→覚えさせます
「行きます」はどうですか。グループ１ですね。グループ１は「行きます」「行き」は「い」です。「い→あ」になります。「行きます→行かせます」になります。
飲みます→飲ませます
持ちます→持たせます
書きます→書かせます
遊びます→遊ばせます
呼びます→呼ばせます
使役形には、もうひとつ意味があります。

「先生、トイレに言ってもいいですか」「いいですよ」
先生は生徒をトイレに行かせます。

「お父さん、日本へ留学してもいいですか」「いいですよ」
お父さんは子供を日本へ留学させます。

「すみません、今日は体調が悪いです。帰ってもいいですか」「いいですよ」
今日は体調が悪いので帰らせます。

「もう、夜が遅いです。ゲームをしてはいけません」
お母さんは、ゲームをさせてくれません。

これは、許可の意味ですね。わかりますか。

今日は熱があるかもしれない。部長になんといいますか。
「すみません、今日は帰らせてください。」これも丁寧です。
もう少し丁寧に言うと
「すみません、今日は帰らせていただけませんか」と言います。丁寧ですね。
「今日は帰らせていただけませんか」「あしたは休ませていただけませんか」
