IELTS Speaking myths. We'll 'de-myth' two together!

What is a myth anyway? A myth, a symbolic narrative, usually of unknown origin and at least partly traditional, that is especially associated with religious belief.

Where do myths come from?  Generally speaking a myth is a folklore genre consisting of narratives that play a fundamental role in a society, such as foundational tales or origin myths.

Myths also come from 'imagining' what took place and forming an idea of it and then sharing it with others as if it actually took place.

Of course it takes place in language learning and in IELTS speaking test.

We'll look into 2 myths students generally think about when it comes to IELTS speaking tests, they are:

Myth 1 -  I have to agree with my examiner’s opinion (if I don't ... )
Myth 2 -  My speaking duration was only 9 minutes long (instead of 11-14). (If it is to occur I ...)

You can finish the rest.

Do you have these kinds of thoughts running through your mind? Generally students say yes, you can be an exception but listen to the podcast just to see what not to do. It's highly recommended.

A ：  请   问  ， 那 位  先   生    是  谁   ？ 
Excuse me, who is that gentleman?

tā shì liú jīng lǐ ， shì wǒ men de xīn kè hù 。 
B ：  他 是  刘  经   理 ， 是  我 们  的 新  客 户 。 
He is Manager Liu. He is our new client.

   tā shì nǎ guó rén ？ 
A ： 他 是  哪 国  人  ？ 
What country is he from?

tā shì zhōng guó rén ， dàn tā zài dé guó gōng zuò 。 
B ： 他 是  中    国  人  ， 但  他 在  德 国  工   作  。 
He is Chinese, but he works in Germany.

Здравствуйте, дорогие слушатели!  Я хочу поделиться с вами маленькой историей, которую написал  русский писатель Лев Толстой.  Это басня о Льве и мыши и, на первый взгляд, между ними нет ничего общего. Но… как часто в жизни маленькие поступки могут менять большие судьбы!

الوقت أَقْوَى سِلَاح بِحَيَاتْنَا وكِلْشِي بْيِعْتِمِد على الوقت.
Time is the strongest weapon in our life and everything depends on the time.
مَثَلًا العَادَات المْنِيحَة بِتْطَوِّر الإِنْسَان كتير بَس بْتِحْتَاج وَقت
For example, positive habits improve the person a lot but they need time.
بَس للأَسَف, أغلب الشَبَاب مَا بْيِدْرِكُوا قِيمِة الوَقْت إلَّا لَعِمِر مِتْأَخِّر
But unfortunately, most youth do not realize the value of time until a later age.
و بْكُونوا ضَيَّعُوا كْتِير أَشْيَاء بِحَيَاتْهُم ﻷنو قَضُّوا حَيَاتْهُم المَاضْيِة بِإِهْتِمَامَات تَافْهَة.
And they would have wasted many things in their lives because they spent their past lives with trivial interests.
العمر قَصِير واليوم اللي رَاح مَا رَح يِرْجَع.
Life is short and the day that is gone will never come back.
مْشَان هَيك, اللي بِيفْهَم قِيمِة الوَقْت مْنِيح رَح يَعْرِف يِسْتَغِل حَيَاتُو بْشَكِل صَحِيح
Therefore, whoever understands the value of time well knows how to use his life in the right way.
