In this episode, I’ll share some interesting knowledge about the double names of tomato! Along the way, you'll not only discover the origins and meanings of these names but also learn some handy new vocabulary：

番茄 (fān qié)
中文解释：一种果实为红色或黄色的蔬果，通常用于烹饪或沙拉。
英文解释：Tomato, a fruit with red or yellow flesh, commonly used in cooking or salads.

西红柿 (xī hóng shì)
中文解释：与番茄相同，但这个名字多用在中国北方，指的是这种植物。
英文解释：Another name for tomato, more commonly used in northern China.

植物 (zhí wù)
中文解释：一种生活在土地上的生物，通常有根、茎、叶和花。
英文解释：Plant, a living organism typically having roots, stems, leaves, and flowers.

柿子 (shì zi)
中文解释：一种果实为橙色，味道甜美的果实。
英文解释：Persimmon, a sweet, orange-colored fruit.

学名 (xué míng)
中文解释：生物的科学名称，通常为拉丁文，包含属名和种名。
英文解释：Scientific name, a Latin-based name for a species, consisting of genus and species.

通俗叫法 (tōng sú jiào fǎ)
中文解释：人们日常生活中对事物的非正式或非专业称呼。
英文解释：Common name, the informal or non-scientific name used in everyday life.

天南海北 (tiān nán hǎi běi)
中文解释：指各地，尤其是指遥远或分散的地方。
英文解释：From all corners of the world, used to describe far or scattered places.

西红柿炒蛋 (xī hóng shì chǎo dàn)
中文解释：一种经典的中国家常菜，主要材料为西红柿和鸡蛋。
英文解释：Stir-fried tomatoes and eggs, a classic Chinese home-cooked dish made with tomatoes and eggs.

How do you call it? 番茄or西红柿？

La settimana scorsa Jimmy ha voluto fare un viaggio a Roma. È stata la sua prima volta nella capitale italiana. È partito da Venezia lo scorso lunedì mattina. Ha preso il treno ad alta velocità e in tre ore e mezza circa è arrivato a Roma.
Jimmy è andato in viaggio da solo perché il suo amico Marco durante la settimana lavora, invece Jimmy ha molto tempo libero e ha deciso di viaggiare in tutte le città italiane.

Roma è la sua prima tappa. Ha prenotato una stanza in un hotel di fronte al Colosseo. Ogni mattina quando si sveglia può vedere le meraviglie dell’anfiteatro Flavio. Il primo giorno ha anche visitato l’interno dell’arena. Poi ha fatto un giro al foro romano, al circo massimo, nel quartiere ebraico e a Trastevere. Ha visitato Castel Sant’Angelo e infine il Vaticano.

A Roma Jimmy ha camminato molto, ha fatto tante foto e ha mangiato molte cose buone e tipiche.

Un giorno, però, ha perso il portafoglio con i soldi e i documenti. È dovuto andare a denunciare il furto alla polizia, ma il suo italiano non è ancora buono!

Ha telefonato al suo amico Marco, che non ha risposto. A volte Marco non risponde al telefono perché è molto pigro e non ha voglia di parlare.

Allora Jimmy ha preso un pezzo di carta, una penna e ha disegnato un portafoglio e un ladro. Finalmente la polizia ha capito e ha fatto la denuncia.

Quel giorno Jimmy è diventato molto triste: ha dovuto fare le valigie e tornare a Venezia perché nasconde i soldi sotto il materasso del suo nuovo appartamento.

Il passato prossimo = in this text you can see some verbs of the past tense. Just as in English, some participle can be irregular. Perdere = perso; decidere = deciso; etc.
Durante la settimana = Durante la settimana significa dal lunedì al venerdì, cioè i giorni in cui lavoriamo.

🔑 La Llave del Pasado 🏚️🕰️

Emma heredó una vieja casa de su abuela, un lugar que nunca había visitado antes. Entre los muebles cubiertos de polvo y los libros antiguos, encontró una pequeña llave dorada con un símbolo extraño grabado. Intrigada, comenzó a buscar por toda la casa hasta que encontró un baúl cerrado en el desván. Sin dudarlo, giró la llave en la cerradura y el baúl se abrió con un crujido. Dentro había una única cosa: un espejo ovalado con un marco de plata ennegrecida. Pero lo más inquietante era que su reflejo no imitaba sus movimientos.

Emma parpadeó varias veces, creyendo que era un truco de la luz. Pero su reflejo seguía observándola fijamente, hasta que levantó la mano y señaló algo detrás de ella. Atemorizada, Emma se giró, pero no había nada. Al volver la vista al espejo, su reflejo había desaparecido. Un escalofrío recorrió su espalda cuando escuchó un susurro en la habitación: "No debiste abrir el baúl".

Intentó salir corriendo, pero la puerta del desván se cerró de golpe. El aire se volvió frío y el espejo empezó a temblar. Emma gritó, pero su voz se apagó cuando sintió que algo la jalaba hacia el cristal. Lo último que vio antes de ser absorbida fue su reflejo… sonriendo. A la mañana siguiente, la casa seguía en silencio, pero el espejo mostraba algo nuevo: una figura atrapada en su interior, golpeando desesperadamente desde el otro lado.
