مُعلم محترفLet’s look at the word “polite.”
Example: “He is very polite.”
What does that mean in real life? A polite person:
• says “please” and “thank you”
• apologizes: “I’m so sorry.”
• doesn’t interrupt others
Polite people also turn commands into requests using modal verbs.
Instead of: “Pass me the water,”
they say: “Could you please pass me the water bottle?”
When ordering food, instead of “I want a coffee” (or “GIVE ME A COFFEE!” 😅),
they say: “I would like a coffee.”
Now it’s your turn! How would you define politeness?
Try to think of a few examples on your own!
