* 고집하다, 우기다 both are very similar.
Direct translations are as follow;
* 고집하다: insist/persist on something.
Mostly it describes someone’s personality, behavior, opinion or attitude.
e.g. “당신은 동물학대 금지법이 중요하지 않다고 고집하지만, 저는 당신의 의견에 전적으로 찬성하지 않아요.”
* 우기다: insist or persist on something in more strong way than ‘고집하다’.
It describes someone who stands on themselves’s opinion without listening to others.
This verb is mostly being used in a negative situation or in tension.
e.g.

고집하다 can have either positive or negative meaning. Positively we say ‘you keep your word, methods, sometimes even recipes’
우기다 sounds like ‘it is not on a concrete base but i/you dont want to listen to the other person’
