All right, fellow learners.
I set English as one of my practicing languages (and not my known ones). The reason is because I set myself on the path to obtaining the C2 level by passing the Cambridge Proficiency Exam.
Basically, for years English has been an everyday thing to me. To the point that it has become ordinary, melted with the rest of everything else happening daily.
However, this goal I thought of a year and a half ago when I arrived in Vietnam has been left behind for a while. Postponed, so to speak.
But I believe that now, the bells of discipline have rung strongly and I won't ignore them.
Of course, learning languages like German or Japanese at a post-intermediate level is something I feel glad about and in no way, will I fail to pursue learning and practicing those.
I am in Switzerland, working during a quiet summer season in a hotel up in the Valais mountains. No worries about finding time for pleasant self-studies.
But how can I feel certain about my level in a language I usually assume to be my second one?
How can I finally provide something tangible to make clear that I have reached a certain level of mastery of Shakespeare's tongue?
There's no other way, as of now.
As I behold the foggy view of the Swiss alps from the window of my chalet, I find myself gazing upon both past modest accomplishments and future potential ones.
Cheers.
