I have the same concern. Because I have some students on Skype, and when it shuts down, we need to use another platform. Do you know what the reason might be?!

I use talky.io.  There's no sign-up, and you just have to agree on a room name.  The room name will be like: talky.io/roomname.  Also you can Share screen.  It works well.  The other place I practice speaking is at free4talk.com .  But sometimes there are inconsiderate people there.  Perhaps they themselves don't think they are inconsiderate.
