When you are eating out in Turkey or let's say, at your friend's house: ❌ Don’t say: Teşekkürler yemek için (sounds unnatural) ✅ Say: Eline sağlık Although, simply "teşekkür ederim" (thank you) is okay to say it. If you wanna put a smile on the cook's face, you say: ELİNE SAĞLIK 🙌 It’s warmer than just saying “thanks”. You’re basically saying: “Your hands did a great job.” Examples: Yemek çok güzel, eline sağlık. (The food is delicious, thank you.) Anne, eline sağlık! (Mom, thanks for the food!)
