Happy New Year!
We are now in 2024. Unfortunately, several disasters, accidents and incidents occurred in Japan early in the new year as some of you might know. I’m particularly saddened by the aircraft accident that occurred on January 2nd as an aviation fan. I don't think I should go into too much detail about that, but at least we have reaffirmed that daily training is very important. I can't help but hope that 2024 will be a peaceful and calm year. By the way, I took the TOEIC test at the end of last year my score was announced. To be honest, it was the worst. I could have gotten a better score. I felt very frustrated and decided to take the test again. I’d like to prepare well for the next test. In addition, I have one more big news. I’m going to Europe with my friend next month! We are planning to visit London, Paris, Vienna, Prague, and Berlin. I'm interested in the history of Eastern Europe. Moreover, we’ll be stopping in Singapore on the way, and we plan to use the transit time to sightsee around Singapore. I’m really excited and looking forward to it now.

Sorry to hear you didn't get the result you hoped for in your test. "News" is a tricky word, it's uncountable so we usually say "I have some news" or in the singular "a piece of news" which is less common. We also frequently refere to "the news" e.g. "Have you seen the news?" or "Did you hear the news?" or "I was watching the news on TV"
