Today I read the Chinese edition of the book called “The courage to be disliked ”. I learnt that we become what we’ve now not because of what we experienced in the past but the meaning we gave to the things that happened in the past, that is, how we define what happened in the past, positive or negative.

Today I read the Chinese edition of a book called “The Courage to be Disliked ”. I learnt that we become what we are now not because of what has happened to us, but because of the meanings that we have assigned to our experiences. That is, it is how we interpret and define our experiences, and our choices to view them as positive or negative, that form our present selves.
Your only real mistake is "we become what we’ve now".
