अयं निज: परोवेति, गणना लघुचेतसाम् । उदारचरितानां तु, वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् ।। (अथर्ववेद) This belongs to me or that belongs to him- this kind of thinking only the narrow minded people have. But to large hearted people, the whole world is like a family.  यह मेरा है अथवा पराया है; इस तरह के विचार छोटे चित्त वाले लोग रखते हैं । किन्तु उदार हृदय वालों के लिए तो सम्पूर्ण विश्व एक कुटुम्ब के समान है ।
