In Japan, you are supposed to take off your shoes when you enter the house, and put them together nice and neatly. “Nice and neatly” means that you put your shoes together and turn them to face outside. It’s a good manner, don’t you think? But it’s not in the particular situation. Can you guess what? A paramedic team ask people not to move their shoes when they come inside your home to rescue your family. They say that they take off their shoes on the right place where they wear them again as speedy as they can. If you move their shoes and line them up neatly, they will take much time to find their own shoes and it’s not easy to wear them as carrying the patient. The tweet by a rescue team got a quite big attention in Japan recently. I didn’t know that they take off their shoes!! They can go inside as wearing their shoes, please! How modest they are!!
