Is this grammatically correct?
A woman in a film said when she tried a pair of tights.

It is correct. Here another thng you might want to learn:
'll try (one) later (redirected from I'll try them later)
I'll try (one) later
I'll try to see, meet with, or talk to you at a later time.
I'm afraid I have to go now, but I'll try you later.
A: "He's not at his desk, I'm afraid." B: "That's fine, I'll just try him later."

Yes, "I'm gonna go try them on" would definitely be correct. If you want it to be a bit more formal you could say "I'm going to go try them on" but they get the same point across!
