Hej! I like to separate my grammar notes from vocab, because I can find the rules more easily. I would also recomend to listen a lot of your target language (podcasts, tv shows, news, etc.). You can acquire a good accent by listening to native speakers.
With visual learners flashcards (fiszki) might be useful. On one side you draw the meaning, on the other side the word you’re learning.
Though I believe that when you hear the word in context and for long enough, it will be remembered on a subconscious level.
Of course it’s easier with a teacher, but that doesn’t mean that self study is not possible. You can also start with a teacher to learn the basics and find a language partner later on when you can communicate a little bit. Good luck :)
