A few days ago, I successfully convinced my wife to learn English with me. That was definitely good news. I had tried to persuade her many times but had failed each time. She said that English is the most difficult language in the word, and she often told me that (“said” is better here) “l just can't do that; maybe l can get the hang of another language such as Spanish or Japanese， but it will never be English.” One day last week, when we were having dinner at the table, I told her that our son had learned his first English word, "digger," and that if we could speak more English at home, it would help our son to learn more. But she turned me down again. The next morning when I was working, someone convinced my wife (to learn English). It was probably my son.
