Hello Spanish (and any language) learners. I'm curious how you measure your progress? I know I'm improving, but wonder if there are better ways to see where I've improved and where I still need more help. Does anyone use the language tests for this reason? I'm learning just for fun - but thought about studying for the DELE to help round out my learning. Thoughts?

Hi tracy! Do not give up on learning Spanish, it is a beautiful language. If you ever wish, it would be a pleasure to teach you my language. And make it entertaining and simple! :)

That’s a good question. I’ve taken a few tests before but just for the sake them. I’m not really sure they can properly measure your progress. I’ve met people who got 8.0 on their IELTS but still couldn’t express themselves in a natural way. For me, it’s more about whether or not you can interact with native speakers without them getting bored just after 5 minutes of your conversation, meaning that you can understand and respond appropriately to whatever is being said.
