hello everyone, I have been learning kanji on the website WaniKani for the past 6 months and really want to start moving towards being able to actually speak Japanese in a conversation, I have just purchased the Genki third edition book and was wanted to know if anyone had any tips for me?

If you know basic grammar and some words, you can try to start basic conversion.
Do you have Japanese friend? Or you can find reasonable lesson. I think there are some places like Japanese community center in your country??
