مدرّسLearning Dutch is not just about grammar and vocabulary; it's also about understanding the culture and context. It is also about culture, directness, and how things are said.
The Dutch are known for their direct way of communicating. For many international learners, this can come across as harsh, blunt, or confusing, while it is often not meant that way at all.
In my language coaching, I therefore don’t only focus on the language itself, but also on how words are used in everyday life.
Think of tone, context, humor, and “typically Dutch” expressions that you won’t find in a textbook.
By practicing real conversations, not only does your vocabulary grow, but also your confidence in speaking and understanding the Dutch language.
What do you find most challenging about communicating in Dutch?
