Many years ago, when people began to use smart phones, most of them dreamed of having an app with which they could do many things at the same time such as paying, entertaining themselves and communicating. During that period, people wouldn’t realize that their dream would soon come true. Today, almost every Chinese person uses WeChat. At first, it was only used to chat with others via instant messaging, then we were able to use it to make video calls and then to make online payment, watch videos, etc... There is joke consisting of saying that nobody can leave WeChat for more than ten minutes. I have tested it myself and proved that I could only keep five minutes off WeChat. I am always wondering of someone else has sent me messages while I’m having dinner. I completely rely on this app, it seems like WeChat owns me or is my boss, without its orders, I am not able to do anything I can just wait. But he is not a serious person, he offers me numerous videos and games, he seems really happy to make me spend all my spare time playing games or watching videos on my phone as I often laugh when I’m consulting the app whether I’m in my room or in an elevator. You might think that I am just talking about some interesting things that I enjoy doing with others, but I can guarantee you that I am just looking down on my phone all the time.
