مدرّسHi everyone,
Having taught French to students of many different nationalities, I’ve noticed a recurring theme:
Many people who want to learn French are planning a trip, looking for work, or have a cultural interest in France.
Don't forget that—thanks to French overseas territories and departments, as well as former colonies (a legacy I don't necessarily endorse from an ethical standpoint)—French is spoken in many places around the globe. It spans from Metropolitan France to the French West Indies (Martinique and Guadeloupe), Madagascar, Réunion Island, Mauritius, French Polynesia, and New Caledonia, as well as French Guiana in South America and Quebec in Canada.
It is truly an international language—and one that’s always handy to master if you’re traveling to these diverse locations!
Best regards in your improvements
François
