I think the performance based pay systems should be introduced into companies. It is true that the performance based pay system can generate fierce competition their among workers, thus seriously undermining their teamwork and cooperation. Some employees may work for their own gain and not provide assistance to their colleagues. In addition, this policy can also generate a small number of top performers and a large number of underachievers, widening the income gap. However, the performance based pay system has not only bad points, there are many good points. First, it is a good incentive for employees because the amount of their hard work is directly reflected in the salary they receive. This system encourages employees to take the initiative and devote their time and energy to their work. Second it also motivates employees to develop their skills, thereby improving the quality or work. Therefore, I think the performance based pay systems should be introduced into companies.
