Last Saturday, I went to my coming-of-age ceremony. In many other areas, the ceremony is held on Sunday this week, but in my area, it is held earlier. I was a little surprised, but I was also excited because this day was very special for me. On that day, I woke up very early in the morning. I went to a shop where the staff helped me with dressing and makeup. Wearing a furisode was a little uncomfortable and tight, but it was very beautiful. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I felt happy and proud. After I got ready, I showed my outfit to my family. They all smiled and said it looked great, which made me very happy. At the ceremony, I met many friends from junior high school and high school. I had not seen them for a long time, so I was surprised at how much everyone had changed. Especially one friend from junior high school caught my attention. She used to be very quiet, but now she had blond hair. At first, I didn’t even recognize her. Even though we didn’t have much time to talk that day, it was fun to see everyone again. In March, there will be a junior high school reunion. I hope I can talk slowly with everyone then and share many memories. This ceremony made me feel that I have grown up.
