Because the new italki is limited. I will ask a question ı know the answer to. American and British the same language the same root stem tree it comes from. Just different words are preferred between American and British English: Dıapher and Nappy. Diapher middle English and Greek cloth dıamond shaped pure white, from diameter. Used in Brıtish English before America was discoverd by The English and Europeans. Later used to descrıbe whıte towels folded into dıaphers (the shape) to be used babies. Neither word diapher nor nappy, is strange. They only sound strange from one country to another. The origin of the word nappy has a similiar logical connection if you research. They the Americans say diapher the Brits say nappy, but it is not two languages it is only one with two differnt worfs currently being used in two countries

Hi John! It seems that we are back to life. Italki for desktop was back yesterday. It's alittle bit bizzare now but maybe we (and the staff) will improove it in some time. :-)
