It basically means Ok. It's used to agree or acknowledge something someone said.

Very similar to okay. You can use it in most of the situations were you would say OK, either to start a topic, or to acknowledge that you heard someone.
(Friend gives you a long set of directions to the nearest coffee shop.)
You: "Alright then, I'll meet you there."
You (walking into a meeting at work, that you're leading): "Alright then, what we really need to discuss today is ...."

Hi!
We use ‘alright then’ as a transitional phrase when we want to start talking about something else.
We also use it informally as an acknowledgment of what someone says.
For example:
Speaker A: “You can get to the store faster if you drive on Washington Avenue.”
Speaker B: “Alright then. Thank you so much!”
We also shorten ‘alright then’ to ‘alrighty’ or we can say ‘alrighty then’ (very informal and native sounding).
Tip: When you use this phrase, make sure the tone of your voice is happy. 😃 If you say this with an unhappy voice/tone, it is very offensive and rude. 😬

Alright means "okay". You can use it when you agree with what some says. I use it interchangeably with "okay".
