That was a good question, it was a tough one <3 On a side note, I would say that "for the year" generally refers to something that will be happening for a duration of the rest of the current year. "Of the year" generally refers to something that happened, and the speaker is acknowledging it's significance. But, of course, English has so many exceptions which is why it's such a confusing language to learn. I hope I helped <3

"Of the year" means the best or most important speech in the year "For the year" means the speech was made or prepared for that specific year
