Hello. What is the difference between spike and peak?
I heard someone who was reading a graph saying there is a spike when I thought he was going to say there is a peak.
Are they synonyms?
Thank you in advance for your help.

So a spike is when something rises quickly. A peak is the highest point on a graph during a period of time, say a year. For example, the stock price spiked in March, but it peaked in November. That would mean the stock price went up quickly in March but the highest price of the year was in November, when it peaked. I hope this helps.
