A: who pays on a first date?
B: whoever idea was to go on a date.
=====================
whoever idea?
1) is that gramatically correct?
2) what's the omition in that sentence B's saying?
My opinion is that...
---->> 'whosever' idea (which/that) was to go on a date.

I pay my own bill especially on the first date, you're not a couple yet ! I don't want to come across as a taker either. But a guy who won't pay for the date I'd be skeptical of how interested he really is in me
