The French have a very specific way in which they greet each other: la bise. They kiss each other on the cheeks to say “hi!” But wait, whom should I kiss, and how many kisses should I give this person? This is a tricky question, sometimes puzzling for the French themselves. But this article will explain it all!
In Belgium I would say that it depends on how well you know the person, but if you know each other very well, it would normally be 3 times!
Hey people :)
I just found this article (in French) about la bise, and it comes with a very lovely and funny video (in English with French subtitles) describing the point of view of a foreigner who lives in France.
Enjoy!
In the north, we kissed 4 times, for exemple. In other department, they kissed 1, 2 or 3 times. It depends...
