I like that "Papaoutai" song by Stormae. Even though the lyrics are sort of depressing, the beat is pretty happy sounding.  

I don't really listen to French music, but a couple of times I've heard some French songs that definitely fit the mold of what I think is stereotypical. 

You should try some of these french-Canadian artists: Coeur de Pirate (all of her stuff is great), Arian Moffat, Corneille and Lisa LeBlanc.

Also enjoying Stromae, Black M, Indila, Zaz, Louane and Les Cowboys Fringants.
