Do you know a poem by Vasily Zhukovsky, The Bard (Певец) 1811?
Привет! I recently read a poem by Vasily Zhukovsky, the title is "The Bard" (Певец) which was written in 1811. I already translated it, but I'm still confused about the meaning of the poem. Do you guys have any idea who is "The Bard" that Vasily Zhukovsky refers to? I need to know why Vasily Zhukovsky wrote it

Zhukovsky was a quite depressive and mystic poet. He liked to write such poems, about graves etc. And it's a very popular theme in Russian poems, that a bard was taken by grave and nobody remember him.
Glinka, a great Russian composer, wrote a song for this poem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-Q-zoiVSzA
