I watch a lot of videos on iTunes and use the subtitles, they should be available in English for most films.  In my case I am trying to learn Italian and therefore sometimes watch the movie in English, but have Italian subtitles.  Maybe you can experiment a little with combinations of audio / subtitles in the target language, but it's best done with DVDs.  All the best!
