Again back to Haiku, we may never say summer, fall, spring nor winter directly, because it is the role of "seasonal word", there is of course no room to write reason why, why I felt so. This is as I already written, reader's task to interpret by synchronizing themselves to the writer..
Actually we would say "read haiku" and not "write haiku". This "read" is slightly different from the one for books though.
To read Japanese Haiku in Japanese, we have to know much about; who wrotes the Haiku, what was he, his life situation, when and where he wrote, how the regional political situation or if there was famine, his personal character and so on.
In Japanese schools recently, they tend to just explain the current interpretation to students, but it is actually not to memorize for tests, and this is not what is supposed to do. I wish that Japanese education will be changed in the way as it should be.Recently, or since long already, senryu will be often invited to public to select the-best-senryu-of-the-year, which only has limination of number of letters.
