Help for a funny translation wanted

For German/English speakers: Please, can you help me to translate the German pun appropriately into English, not Denglish?

 

"Wenn die Bienen den ganzen Tag summen,

muss ihnen doch abends der Schädel brummen." (Dieter Mucke)

 

If bees continuously hum,

Headaches will come in the sum.

 

Or so... :-)

their heads will pound just like a gong.
