What are the girls thinking? How about you ask what the guys are thinking. The problem why men have fewer chances of finding language partners is a result of

1. Men preferring to contacting women and not offering each other language exchange. Whenever a woman posts a language request several men reply immediately. Why don't they do that when men are posting language exchange requests?

2. Some women can't do language exchange with men because of their religious or cultural restrictions (or jealous husbands). And some women don't want to because of previous bad experiences with men trying to flirt and behaving inappropriately.

I don't think it's justified to only blame women here.

Btw, you could really enhance your chances of finding a language partner if you

1. wrote a little introduction about yourself in your profile. This way users who have similar interests might contact you.

2. allowed private messages. Currently, other users have to send you friend requests to get in touch with you. But non-premium users can only send out two friend requests per day. You could switch your contact permissions in your privacy settings from "friends only" to "anyone". Then everyone can contact you.

This info might also be useful for other users in this thread. Sara, Moises and others also don't allow private messages. If any of you wonder why hardly anyone contacts you, check your contact permissions.

What does your comment mean? I thought this site was about us humans learning language not women?

It's not true that more men reply to language partner requests by women than by men? Then there shouldn't be a problem. The women who only talk to women are a minority. Why did you say in your original post "It's all about women"? If I allow private messages I receive at least five language partner requests by men per day. I'm not even a native English speaker and am not looking for language exchange. Male friends of mine who actually are native English speakers don't receive as many requests. Why is that?
