Now, rules for making future in Urdu can be derived from above examples.
Each verb in infinitive has the ending "na" (equivalent to "to" in English).
In order to make future, this ending is replaced and ga, ge, gi, or giɳ is added, depending upon the pronoun.
That was a million and two thanks, WezZy.
You are welcome!
Hi Dewi,
The last part of the verb "na" is replaced by "oon" for first person singular (I). (or simply -oon ga)
I shall learn: Main seekh-oon ga.
Other examples:
I shall go: main ja-oon ga
I shall eat: main kha-oon ga
I shall write: main likh-oon ga (to write: likh-na) ... etc.
For first person singular (we), we replace "na" with "-en ge",
We shall learn: Ham seekh-en ge
We shall go: ham ja-en ge
We shall eat: ham kha-en ge
We shall write: ham likh-en ge
Have a look at the above examples and you can easily find out rules for other pronouns.
It is a good idea to learn these sentences (at least one example for each pronoun) by heart, so that you learn the rules automatically.
Note that the n in the ending is nasal.
Is there any role to change the verb?
such as: seekhna => seekhooɳ; khelna => khele; khana => khae
Some of the above examples were for masculine. The corresponding examples for feminine are:
We (females) shall go to Islamabad: ham Islamabad jaeɳ giɳ ہم اسلام آباد جائیں گی
You (respect, female) shall watch the film: Aap film dikheɳ giɳ آپ فلم دیکھیں گیں
You (informal, female) shall come tomorrow: tum kal a-o gi تم کل آؤ گی
Thank you .. Thank you .. Thank you a million! =))
