I'll talk about my case here. I am good at asking and answering questions at lectures. But not that good at exams (my professors used to expect me to get higher grades than I actually got) and I did horribly in projects. My job is in programming. I am doing horribly at it. I sometimes hope to get a job in research cause I like the idea of discovering new things. I am trying to do that, although I am not sure I will do well in that job either.
Can my problem be psychological only? could it be that I am not confident enough to start dealing with adulthood and the after-college world? or is it related to my mental skills?
Have anyone here had the same experience before? If so, what did you do?
hmmmm have you tried to do something like a skills or task analysis? I am good in college, but in my first job i wasn't doing as well as expected. I didn't really know what my issue was, either. Then I was talking to a traning manager who told me that he does a task analysis for each staff to help them find out their strengths and weaknesses. Basically, you do that by making a process of what you need to do in your job; and then identify the skill required for it to be successful. Then, look through it to see which parts you can work on.
I did that (and i prayed too! haha) and got much much better in my job. Perhaps it's something you can consider :)
