Tones seem to disappear in music :)

Donnie is right. Tones completely disappear in music. Instead, the tune of the song alone determines its tones. Because of this, we might not know what the lyrics of a Chinese song are just by listening to it.

In China, we call tonality in poetries,opera or song 'yun韵’. It will make the song more attractive and

popular than the songs without tonality. I think it's one of the chinese charming parts.

does this tonality requirement limit music sang in Mandarin?
