The Tim じぁん!!!
It was still drizzly today, I felt kind of lost track of time under the leaden sky. On my way home, my mom was complaining at the gas price that lately has soared sky high. I was confused when she told me that the cost of filling up our Beetle could buy me a brand new bicycle. It’s either the former one costs too much or the latter one costs too few.

The price of petrol is high here too. I am happy I don't have a car!

Good attempt. I'm not sure what you mean here by "former" and "latter." Are you talking about the gas prices or the car/bike? Also you wouldn't say, "too few," but without proper context, I didn't change the original sentence. My first thought is that you want "the cost is too low" or something like that.
