I’m a software engineer, and five years ago I would often take part in offline technical discussions. Watching and listening to many well-known speakers in person was very exciting for me. But I spent a lot of time doing this. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, I have been taking part in technical discussions online. This is more efficient as I don’t need to rearrange my weekend plans, I can just stay at home and open my computer and listen to and watch many speakers from different countries.
