Mid-Autumn Festival
Tomorrow is Mid-Autumn Festival,
which has been a traditional festival
in our culture for about two thousand years.
The moon <strike>
of the</strike> tomorrow night will be the biggest and the <strike>
most</strike> bright
est of the year. An old legend
says that a beautiful young lady, named Chang'e, wanted to be a fairy
, she stole the only medicine from her husband who was
an archerer, named HouYi. The medicine could make them
both immortal, but just turned
her into a fairy. Chang'e couldn't help eating the medicine
secretly and was shamed
when her husband
found out. Then she
flew to the moon with a little white rabbit and lived there lonely forever.
OK, it is a sentimental fairy tale.
In real li
fe, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a important day for family reunion. The classical scene is that the whole family shall
eat moon cake and many fruits together as they enjoy the sight of the moonli<strike>
gh</strike>t sky. There are many kin
ds of moon cake<strike>
s</strike> from different places.
Attached a famous poem for the festival,
which was written more than one thousand years ago.
Asked the sky with wine how many days are with fine moonlight.
Who can tell me which year it is.
I want to fly with the wind to the sky where I am afraid is cold very much
The place where fairies live is fine as my place tonight
I can't sleep in the so beautiful moonlight
Not everything is perfect like the round moon tonight, so don't complain
It is always that people like the moon, some time are happy like the round moon, some time are sad like curved moon
I wish that everyone would live long and happily even if I was far away from you
Lovely story, Apple; thanks for sharing it with us. Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to you and your family.
