The pie charts illustrate the amount of family budget spent on food on restaurant meals in a thirty-year period from 1970 to 2000, while the line graph compares how many meals are eaten in either fast food or sit-down restaurants. As the first chart demonstrates, between 1070 and 2000, family gradually spent more money on restaurant meals rather than eating at their homes. In the first decade of given period, the amount of money spent on restaurant meals increased by 5%, from 10% in 1970 to 15%in 1980. However, between 1980 and 1990, there was a substantial growth from 15% to 35%. By 2000, around half of the family budget spent on restaurant meals. As for the second chart, during the time period from 1970 to 2000, the amount of meals eaten in both fast food and sit-down restaurants rose. However, from 1970 to 1980, there was a moderate upward trend in the number of meals in sit-down restaurants, rising from 20 meals to slightly under 40 meals annually, after which there was a constant growth where it hit the peak of 50 meals in 2000. Fast food restaurants, on the other hand, witnessed a tremendous increase in the number of meals, surging from approximately 30 meals to 90 meals in 2000, representing a three-fold increase.
