Comprar flores - Buying flowers
In Córdoba is common watch florists salling a single rose or a carnation, in every restaurant. You can give flowers to someone in any occasion here, even when you don't have a really good reason for do it. The best day to give a flower as a gift is Women's Day on March 8th, is a very important day for every women in Agentina. You can give as a present any kind of flowers and any number of them, but Calas are related to funerals. Anyway, somebody once gave me a Cala and I didn`t think about my death. It's a beautifull flower! But that is what happen in the city.
There is an special behavior about ecology in my country. I am from mountains, and we never, never, never!! give as a present a cutted flower, it is an insult in my region. Please be careful, if you want to give a flower to an argentine, first ask from what part of Argentina your friend is and what he or she thinks about ecology.

Yes Mark is something cultural, but not everybody in Argentina, in some places we beleave that when you cut a flower you are hurting the plant, so we prefered potted flowers and we can plant them in our gardens, but it's not everywhere some places are like this, is the same with garbage, when we go to city and see people throwing garbage on the street we get horrified....:D.

Here, lilies are reguarded as funeral flowers. Very similar to the callas apparently. I like the idea of sending a flower to a lady at a restaurant or wherever. Very romantic. Why would cut flowers possibly offend you? Is it a cultural thing? Would a potted flower be more appropriate? I am a little confused about this
