Should I really try to please everyone?

There is no doubt that it is extremely difficult to make all the people around you happy and pleased with your conduct (better: behavior). I'd even say it is a so-called "mission impossible." And because this seems to be a fair judgment it is all too easy to dismiss this whole idea of pleasing others as silly, but let's ponder on the issue  it for awhile (better: let's think about it for awhile). After all, a lot of people expect us to do that - to try to satisfy others' needs (better: the needs of others). So is this even realistic or worth trying?

Does it make sense to bend change (or conform) your behaviour so much so that your family or friends are continuously always content (better: happy; "content" is usually to describe, not in a phrase like this) with you? What if some of them tend to be scandalized by something that others perceive as likeable? What should you do in such a case? Withdraw, hide, abstain from doing anything? Now, that's a conundrum.
