my first lesson on italki. on italki.i have a student from America.I teach him mandarin.But actually i think i just chat with him each time.and i feel happy to talk with him. When i talked to him first time,he could speak little chinese。And I can only speak a little english. He looked confused no matter what I say. That almost drove me crazy! My major was japanese in college .i really wanted to talk to him in japanese that time ,but he is an American.you can’t imagine that i said :“はい,!”when I want to say:”yes!”.i said:”すみません”when I want to say:”sorry!”. I think it is above my head to translate chinese to english without japanese.both of us are embarrassed for sure.i found out that he don’t know “pinyin” at all..worse still was that he don’t like “pinyin”,and won't be ready to learn it. I felt helpless and failed. But there is always a way out. Unexpectedly he could read Chinese character when I typed some characters on skype.although his pronunciation was weird and strange. He told me he had remembered about 100 Chinese characters.this news made me feel stirring immediately. I tried to correct his strange pronunciation,and surprised that he can learn it quickly and correctly. At last my first lesson was over. Now I can breathe freely.
