What would you do If you are were late for an important appointment?

I surely know (I am sure ) that I won't be were not late totally for an important appointment in any situations. But If, in case, that such a situation arises, had happend, I will must do undertake some actions without wasting any more time. Those will be as below:

First, I will immediately call for the group or the person, who are waiting for me to let them know about announce my problem. After that, I will ask them to do me a favour by giving me some more time to keep the appointment.  negotiate with them to add a few minutes more than.

Second, If I am already at my appointment place, but somewhat late to reach there, to was at the appointment, I will explain them the reasons me to be late and hope everyone in the appointment room to be sympathize with me.
